Technical Requirements

The three most common causes of technical issues are:
  • Using an employer-issued computer
  • Unstable internet connections
  • Outdated web browsers

Employer-issued computers often have firewalls or security settings that can block our software from functioning properly. Similarly, unreliable internet connections—such as those from wireless networks, mobile hotspots, or hotel Wi-Fi—can disrupt connectivity. Additionally, outdated browsers (like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge) that haven’t been updated may malfunction, potentially preventing you from completing the exam.

To avoid technical issues, we strongly recommend

  1. using a personal computer (not issued by your employer)
  2. making sure your browser is up to date and
  3. connecting to the internet via a wired Ethernet connection, if possible, for a smooth and uninterrupted experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my computer can handle the online exam?

The easiest way to determine if you can take the online exam on your laptop or desktop is to look at what you normally use your device for. If you can watch a streaming Netflix or Disney movie on your device, you can certainly take the online exam on your device.

Can a touchscreen device be used to take the online exams?

No, we do not recommend using any touchscreen devices regardless of the screen size. Certain sections of the exam, such as video analysis and others, might not function properly on a touchscreen.
