This certification represents an entry-level specialty for those interested in teaching and coaching running.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

A Certified Running Technique Specialist (Pose Method):
  • Designs and conducts running training sessions for both groups and individuals, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, ensuring that the programs are safe, effective, and suitable for individuals who are apparently healthy or possess medical clearance to exercise.
  • The specialist recognizes the limitations of his or her own knowledge and skill set and refers clients to other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
  • Assesses, monitors, and develops training programming based on the client’s current and ongoing performance goals, fitness level, readiness for training, performance (relative to goals, level, and readiness for training)
  • Teaches proper running technique through a combination of verbal guidance, technique drills, and physical exercises.
  • Provides education and motivation to clients, students, and soldiers in order to facilitate individual progress and success.
  • Minimizes and manages risk for the client throughout training sessions.
  • Operates an ethical practice characterized by professionalism and integrity.
Candidates are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of exam registration. It is important to prepare a form of identification, as it will be required in order to start the exam.

Upon registration, candidates are required to review the eligibility requirements and confirm their eligibility.

The Academy Certification Department may reach out to the candidate directly to verify the provided information. Any attempt to misrepresent eligibility requirements constitutes a serious breach of the Academy Standards of Professional Practice and will result in the rejection of the registration for the exam and/or the revocation of certification.
Required education
High School (or an equivalent)

This is an entry level specialty certification for anyone interested in teaching and coaching running. Candidates of all levels of post-secondary education are welcome to apply for this certification.

Recommended: to effectively prepare for this career path, it is advisable to enroll in courses focused on human physiology, exercise science, biology, psychology, and health during high school. Additionally, taking courses in English and speech will contribute to the development of essential communication skills.

What is a voluntary certification or recertification?

Voluntary certification refers to the process in which professionals independently seek certification or opt to renew their certification without any requirements imposed by employers, state laws, or industry regulations.

How much time do I have to use all 3 attempts?

You have one (1) year to utilize all three attempts to successfully complete the exam. The countdown commences on the day of your registration for the exam. While registration grants you access, you are free to actually take the exam at a later date.

Do I have to register for and take the exam on the same day?

No. You are free to actually take the examination within 30 days of registering for it. 

Are there practice exams?

The Romanov Academy Certification Department does not offer practice exams. Candidates are encouraged to utilize both online and offline resources, which are readily available to enhance their study efforts.

Can I take the exam on a phone or tablet/iPad?

It is not recommended. While it is possible to browse through this website on a tablet or mobile devices, it is advised to use a desktop or laptop to ensure a better experience. Some features, such as video playback in video analysis section may not function properly on touch screens.
